Jamie N Commons Single “Karma” to be Battlefield Hardline Theme Song

December 10, 2014 by Sara Leave a Comment

Activision in 2013 looked to an Eminem single to be used in Call of Duty: Ghosts and throughout the game’s marketing promotions. This year, the company’s competitor, EA, has looked to an exclusive new Jamie N Commons single “Karma” to be the Battlefield Hardline theme song. Microsoft will neither confirm nor deny that the Halo 5 theme song will actually be the next single from Pharrell Williams.

You do realize the Microsoft reference was a joke, yes? The other two are dead serious.

EA’s Visceral Games studio has signed a partnership with Interscope Records to include the Jamie N Commons single as the game’s theme music. “Karma” was written specifically for EA’s game.

Jamie N Common is perhaps best known for his tracks “Jungle” and “Rumble and Sway.” He wrote the BF Hardline-exclusive single “Karma” with Alex Da Kid.

In Battlefield Hardline, gamers will play as either a hero or an outlaw, a cops-vs-criminals fantasy FPS that EA says was inspired by popular TV crime dramas. On the multiplayer side of things, BF Hardline will feature wide-scale battles set on the streets of Los Angeles and Miami.

“Earlier this year ‘Jungle’ was featured in the first Battlefield Hardline trailer, which was a total thrill” said Jamie N Commons. “‘Karma,’ however, was written specifically with the game in mind. The deep melodic beats and lyrics help express the game’s theme where actions have consequences, but sometimes those consequences come back full circle. I think gamers are going to love it.”

Battlefield Hardline renders its chaotic urban warfare using the Frostbite 3 game engine, which made its debut with the launches of PS4 and Xbox One. The game will include a new class of weapons, gadgets and vehicles as diverse as ziplines, motorcycles, police choppers and muscle cars.

The game’s episodic single-player campaign will give players more freedom of choice than previous Battlefield games. Players will be able to deploy a variety of lethal or non-lethal tactics to bring down a criminal underworld from within. Or, since it gives players the chance, to bolster the underworld’s power.

The Battlefield Hardline release date is March 17, 2015, in North America and March 20 in Europe. The game will be available for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PS3 in addition to PC.
