Just Cause 2 finally has a ship date for the PS3 and Xbox 360: March 23, 2010, in North America, and March 26 worldwide. The upcoming game is a sequel to the surprisingly popular title from 2006 published by Eidos, which is now known as Square Enix London Studios.
Like its predecessor, Just Cause 2 is an open-world game but on a grand scale: the sequel features more than 400 square miles of Southeast Asian tropical landscape complete with snow-capped mountains, sun-kissed beaches, dense jungle and arid deserts.
So, what will players be doing on this lush paradise? As super-Agent Rico Rodriguez, players must take on the military regime on the island of Panau to track down Rico’s former boss, who has gone rogue with millions in Agency cash and intelligence. Using a unique grapple and parachute combination, players will use the air as their playground: grappling a passing plane in flight, hijacking helicopters, BASE jumping from the tallest buildings or mountains and leaving a trail of chaos and destruction in their wake. There are also more than 100 vehicles, just for good measure.
