Kung-Fu LIVE, a full-body motion fighting experience exclusive for the PS3, launched today on the PlayStation Network in North America and Europe with full motion controls. The kicker, though, is that the game achieves its motion controls on the PS3 with a very Xbox Kinect-like setup.
Kung-Fu LIVE transforms everyday gamers into real life kung-fu action heroes (or so they think — we can still laugh at them) by putting them directly into the action on their PS3 using only the PlayStation Eye.
Virtual Air Guitar Company, the developer, achieved this using patented “Freemotion” technology to create an Xbox Kinect-like experience that requires no separate controller or wand. We will have a full review of Kind-Fu LIVE in the week ahead. In the meantime, here’s the skinny about the game itself.
Kung-Fu LIVE challenges players to survive an onslaught of enemies using a limitless array of free-style martial arts and acrobatic moves with their own bodies. Utilizing real-time background image removal, enormous interactive environments, a roster of impossible-made-possible power moves, and unique multiplayer components, Kung-Fu LIVE lets players star in the ultimate kung-fu comic adventure that will unleash their inner Bruce Lee.
Kung-Fu LIVE is available now on PlayStation Network for $14.99 in North America and €13.99 EUR / £10.99 GBP in Europe.
