Three more classic rock tracks are coming to Guitar Hero World Tour, with Activision announcing that Wayne Kramer, Motorhead and The Sex Pistols will make exclusive re-recordings of three songs for the upcoming band-based Guitar Hero game.
Just shy of the 40th anniversary of the original recording of “Kick Out the Jams,” founder and lead guitarist Wayne Kramer went back into the recording studio with original producer Bruce Botnick to re-record the track exclusively for Guitar Hero World Tour. Wayne Kramer was joined by Jerry Cantrell of Alice and Chains and Gilby Clark formerly of Guns ‘N’ Roses to update and modernize the song.
Likewise, when The Sex Pistols last year re-recorded “Anarchy in the U.K.” for Guitar Hero 3, the band also re-recorded “Pretty Vacant,” which will finally make its Guitar Hero appearance in World Tour. And Motorhead, who returned to the studio to re-record their 1979 hit “Overkill,” will release the song on Guitar Hero World Tour as well.
