Back in 2004, a car combat game called Mashed let PS2, Xbox and PC gamers live-out their biggest road rage fantasies. Apparently people still have some aggression to let out in this latest console generation, because the sequel to Mashed, a new “battle racing” game called Wrecked: Revenge Revisited, has just been announced for Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network.
In Wrecked: Revenge Revisited, players are required to drive aggressively with a chip on their shoulder, utilizing a variety of weapons and vehicle enhancements to take their opponents out of the race. However, in a twist on the model presented in Burnout Revenge, all opponents who’ve been taken down can exact vengeance against those who knocked them out — using five different aerial strikes.
And really, who needs to re-enter a race to shunt someone when you can drop a tactical nuke?
Wrecked: Revenge Revisited also supports a host of car customizations that are effective in the game’s single-player Championship Mode and its online multiplayer components. The Championship Mode offers 24 challenges across four different disciplines so players can practice your skills before taking them online. The online options on XBLA and PSN will support four players and span several different tracks and locations.
Wrecked: Revenge Revisited will also support four-person locally competitive play.
