Today Atlus sent along a brand-spanking-new “Co-op” trailer for The Cursed Crusade, a two-player cooperative action/adventure for Xbox 360, PS3 and Windows PC coming later this year. The Cursed Crusade is scheduled to release for all three platforms in Fall 2011.
This new The Cursed Crusade “Co-op” trailer shows the two-player, cooperative combat in action, including the combos that fans can look forward to when dishing out medieval pain in the early 13th century. Players have the option in The Cursed Crusade to recruit a friend to play as the thief, Esteban, so they can battle it out together in local split-screen or online play.
When playing The Cursed Crusade cooperatively, gamers can count on one another to perform cooperative holds, finishing moves and even bring each other back from the brink of death. The split-screen mode is available in both horizontal and vertical splits, allowing crusading duos to customize their co-op experience to their liking.
But if pictures speak a thousand words, then this video will tell you more than our brief news item ever could. So check out The Cursed Crusade “Co-op” trailer below.
The Cursed Crusade is set against the backdrop of the Old World, with two adventurers — both seasoned warriors — on a quest across Western Europe ablaze with the turmoil of a newly begun Fourth Crusade. Denz, a holy Templar, and Esteban, a roguish mercenary, may have different origins, but their motivations are the same: to find the means to deliver themselves from a terrible curse that threatens to consume their immortal souls.
Key gameplay features for The Cursed Crusade include:
- The Old World Burns–Embark on a contentious quest for retribution spanning five chapters and 40 missions that promises to bring fire, death, and destruction to the great cities of medieval Europe.
- A Templar Cursed–Transform the world around you into a flaming red vision of Hell, increasing your strength and your ability to perceive hidden things, all at the expense of your humanity.
Brotherhood of Steel–Split-screen or online, recruit a friend to assume control of the thief, Esteban, to join in the excitement of shared adventure.
- Intense, visceral 3rd-person action–Easy to grasp yet deep in its execution, a weapon-based combat engine features over 90 combos, dozens of weapons, and a timing-based counter system
