Bandai Namco knows its fanbase. How else can you explain the addition of DIGIMON All-Star Rumble Digicards to the upcoming Xbox 360 and PS3 game?
Although the DIGIMON All-Star Rumble is a video game rather than a tabletop game, the addition of cards is a homage to all things real-world. Digicards add a unique aspect to the fighting gameplay with offensive and defensive Digicards that can throw the momentum of battle.
For instance, some of the Digicards let players unleash new effects such as explosions and shockwaves. Other cards will increase a player’s attributes or unlock a hidden Super Form. These cards will have a lottery chance to activate at the end of player combos to continue the stream intense battle.
DIGIMON All-Star Rumble will have 200 Digicards to collect and unlock. Players will be able to equip two Digicards to take into battle with their favorite Digimon. No doubt the cards will come in handy in the game’s fast-paced Digimon Evolution Tournament.
This competitive tournament is a party-arena brawl featuring all the most popular all-star Digimon from the Digimon franchise. The settings in which the multiplayer fights take place span such colorful stages as Toy Town, Native Forest and Coela Beach, among others.
DIGIMON All-Star Rumble will ship in the Americas Nov. 11 for PS3 and Xbox 360. It will cost $39.99 on both consoles.
