Overlord is coming to the PS3 after all, Codemasters revealed today. Previously an Xbox 360 and PC exclusive, Overlord will return this summer on the PlayStation 3 in the form of “Overlord: Raising Hell.”
Overlord: Raising Hell will include the complete Overlord experience from the Xbox 360 and PC, plus all of the expansion content, in a single exclusive edition. Set in a twisted fantasy world, Overlord: Raising Hell is an action adventure that has players being ruthless, determined and a little despotic as they pillage lands and conquer kingdoms in their quest to be proclaimed the all-powerful Overlord.
In addition to offering a complete collection of Overlord content, including online co-operative pillaging and head-to-head slaughter, the PS3 version will also have enhanced visuals, 7.1 surround sound and gameplay refinements, such as the addition of an on-screen mini-map.
Overlord: Raising Hell takes players deeper into the Overlord’s warped world with a series of additional hellish levels, each of which is a supernatural abyss for the game’s five kingdoms. With the undead denizens of each abyss on the attack and threatening the Overlord’s superiority, there’s only one thing to do: assemble the Minions, descend into each abyss and embark on a fresh wave of tyranny in order to claim the underworld throne.
These Minions are totally loyal to their Overlord. Like specific units in a real-time-strategy game, Minions use their unique skills to fetch, fight and even die for their Overlord. Players can amass armies of up to 50 Minions.
