PlayStation 3, PS4 and PS Vita owners still have two weeks to download the PlayStation Plus October 2014 free games, but rumors have already begun about what’s on tap for the PlayStation Plus November 2014 lineup. The latest PS Plus November 2014 free game discussions include a few that players have wanted for some time, but one title appears to have been confirmed.
The free game that’s seemingly been confirmed for the PS Plus November 2014 program is The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. Produced by Nicalis Inc., The Binding of Isaac was described on the PlayStation Blog by the developer as combining “elements of The Legend of Zelda and Smash TV with the rogue-like genre,” with hundreds of items, weapons and power-ups.
The Binding of Isaac is believed to be part of the PlayStation Plus November 2014 free games lineup because it releases November 4 for both the PS4 and PS Vita. The early-November release would seem to coincide with the launch of new PS Plus November 2014 games, and the fact that it hits both systems jives with a now months-old habit Sony’s developed with the PS Plus program.
Since August 2014, PS Plus members have gotten two free games on the same day they became available for purchase by non-PS Plus members. In October, PS Plus members actually received three free games on their launch day, two of which were for PS4, Dust: An Elysian Tail and Spelunky.
It would be unlikely for Sony to break that tradition, considering the PlayStation 4 will mark its first birthday in November 2014. In fact, some PS Plus subscribers have predicted Sony will give fans three free games in November if they’re PS Plus members both to honor that anniversary and to “make it up” to PlayStation Plus members who struggled with a buggy release of DriveClub PlayStation Plus Edition in October.
Some of the PS Plus November 2014 free games rumored or at least hoped for by gamers include Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Knack and Flower for PS4; Saints Row 4 and God of War for PS3; and Borderlands 2 and Guacamelee for PS Vita.
Several of those have been on gamers’ wish list for months. However, Knack is a prime candidate for a free PlayStation Plus game in November because it, like the PS4, will be celebrating its one-year anniversary. Since that’s a first-party title, Sony could easily make its own internal decision to offer it for free.
