When we first saw the Quantum of Solace video game at E3 2008, there was no denying it featured the likeness of the movie counterpart’s main James Bond character. One question remained: how many other movie characters would appear, and would the game use their voices as well?
OK, so that really wasn’t a very intriguing question, but it was one we had nonetheless, and Activision wasn’t willing to confirm. Today, however, they did.
All the film leads from the next James Bond film, Quantum of Solace, will appear and lend their voices to their video game counterparts.
All told, the Quantum of Solace game will feature the likeness and voices of: Daniel Craig as James Bond, Judi Dench as M, French actor Mathieu Amalric as the sinister villain Dominic Greene, and Ukrainian actress Olga Kurylenko as Camille, 007’s leading lady. It will also include the voices and likenesses of actors from “Casino Royale” including Eva Green as Vesper Lynd and Mads Mikkelsen as Le Chiffre.
Why the Casino Royale characters? Well, because the game is based on both the “Quantum of Solace” and “Casino Royale” feature films.
The game blends first-person action with a third-person cover combat system that allows players to use stealth as well as precision shooting. Built on the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare game engine, Quantum of Solace has been tweaked to include systems specifically engineered to be appropriate for Bond, his capabilities and to reproduce locations inspired by locales portrayed in both films.
