2K Games today announced a release date for Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution, the latest entry in the popular Civilization franchise. The game, which will ship for Xbox 360 and PS3, will hit stores on June 3.
Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution will also have a Nintendo DS counterpart. The DS version of Civilization Revolution will ship the same day as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions.
Built from the ground up for console and handheld gamers, Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution features fast-paced, pick-up-and-play action involving strategic global domination and history’s most intrepid leaders. As expected for a strategy game, it also has a competitive multiplayer mode.
Civilization Revolution marks the first time the Civilization franchise has appeared on a videogame console. Much like Electronic Arts re-tooled RTS gameplay mechanics for its Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-earth games and Command & Conquer 3, 2K Games has included new graphical touches and a streamlined interface for Civ Revolution.
