The arcade-style space shooter In Space We Brawl has gone live today in the PSN Store for both PlayStation 4 and PS3. The game’s indie developer, Forge Reply, will upload In Space We Brawl to the PS Store in the EU and Australia on Oct. 15.
In Space We Brawl lets players choose from 11 spaceships and 11 different weapon attachments to unleash what the developer calls “cosmic mayhem.” In this case that seems like more than hype, as the game combines gameplay reminiscent of classic arcade beat-em-ups with the excitement of a twin-stick shooter.
Unlike many arcade-inspired games, In Space We Brawl supports a local multiplayer setting for same-couch gameplay sessions. As far as that “cosmic mayhem” goes, players begin by choosing their ship and weapon combination, then take off to battle in one of the eight different celestial locations.
Gamers will face more than enemies or their friends on the sofa. In Space We Brawl includes a variety of environmental space hazards such as solar winds, black holes and alien nests that players need to navigate or use to their advantage when fighting against other players.
In Space We Brawl is priced at €11.99, £9.49, $11.99 and AU$17,95 regardless of whether you purchase the PS4 or PS3 version of the game. PlayStation Plus subscribers will get 20% off that price for the first week In Space We Brawl is for sale.
