Star Wars: The Force Unleashed may be a week away from shipping, but that isn’t stopping the game from Force-Pushing its way into the record books. LucasArts announced today that the Force Unleashed Xbox 360 demo was downloaded one million times in eight days — one full day faster than that milestone had been achieved by any other game.
Interestingly, the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed demo has also been available for PS3 via the PlayStation Network, where the demo has been downloaded 1.3 million times — more than the Xbox 360 demo. Presumably, that’s not a record for PS3 demo downloads, or LucasArts would have drawn more attention to that number as well.
The demo for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed first went live on Xbox Live Marketplace on Aug. 21.
The Force Unleashed will ship to retail on September 16. DailyGame has been playing it for about a week now and will have a full review on Sept. 15. Stay tuned….
