Electronic Arts is going full-bore with the family-friendly bit, announcing its new “All Play” lineup for the Wii. But with that so-called “casual gaming” crowd accounted for, the company is free to go a bit more “hardcore” with its traditional sports games, including such things as the announced-today “Club Tuner” for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09.
Using this feature, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 will let gamers calibrate their clubs to fit their personal tendencies and preferences. Players will be able to test and customize their driver, fairway woods, irons and wedges and, if that takes too much time, just get club recommendations from Hank Haney, the in-game coach.
If they opt for the Club Tuner, players will be able to tweak the sliders on five club attributes: power, workability, loft, spin and bias, thus allowing gamers to maximize their equipment for various types of conditions or courses. But increased club performance may have an impact on ease of use, so tune wisely.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 is scheduled to ship for PS3 and Xbox 360 on August 26.
