Turok, a sci-fi first-person shooter set in the realm of dinosaurs, shipped today in North America for the Xbox 360 and PS3 (PlayStation 3).
Almost three years in development, Turok transports players to a dark, mysterious planet in the future — that is somehow inhabited by dinosaurs. Players take on the role of Joseph Turok, a former black-ops commando now part of an elite special forces squad. This squad is on a mission to confront a war criminal — Turok’s former mentor — when its ship is shot down and the soldiers find themselves needing to elude the mentor’s army and the native dinosaurs.
In addition to this single-player campaign, Turok has multiple online multiplayer modes and maps for up to 16 players. Turok includes 10 multiplayer maps, seven of which are competitive maps and three of which are coop-specific missions. Competitive multiplayer modes include Capture the Flag, Assault-style Capture the Flag, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and War Games (an objective-based mode).
Turok’s co-op feature allows up to four players to team up online in maps inspired by the single-player story but designed specifically for the co-op mode.
