Twisted Metal fans take note: a new car combat game is on the way for the PlayStation Network, and although it’s not in the Twisted Metal franchise, it’s showing some promise. Called Wheels of Destruction: World Tour, the game’s an arcade-style car combat shooter set in a post-apocalyptic Earth, pushing players behind the wheel of five different vehicles in five of the most dangerous regions of Europe.
Wheels of Destruction: World Tour pits players in an arena of vehicular carnage as they play against each other online in Capture the Flag and Deathmatch. Five distinct car classes make for deadly cutthroat car combat with a unique futuristic aesthetic – all powered by the Unreal Engine. Wheels of Destruction: World Tour brings gamers together just to tear them apart again in an addictive, easy-to-learn yet hard to master, battle behind the wheel.
In a lawless, post-apocalyptic world, Wheels of Destruction: World Tour is a demolish-or-be-demolished competition of extreme four-wheel wreckage.
The game is being published by Gelid Games, an indie studio.
