Sierra has announced that its strategy game World in Conflict will appear on the Xbox 360 and PS3 this fall, but rather than just be a simple port of the PC powerhouse, the console version of World in Conflict will include new single-player and new multiplayer content.
The new content will also be made available for personal computer as an add-on to the original World in Conflict game.
Unfortunately, Sierra hasn’t yet shared exactly what that new content will be, only that it will be customized for the console experience, much like the game is being customized as we write. The core premise of the game will stay intact, though.
So just what is the premise of World in Conflict? Well, the game asks the terrifying question “what if the Cold War didn’t end?” With this backdrop, the game pits Cold War-era superpowers against one another with completely destructible 3D battlefields. World in Conflict removes traditional resource-gathering and base-building in favor of fast-paced combat, tactical decisions and FPS-like action.
