The wait is almost over for a Peggle 2 PS4 version. EA and PopCap Games have announced that Peggle 2 PS4 will release for Sony’s next-gen console on Oct. 14. The Peggle 2 PS4 release will break the game’s exclusive ties to the Xbox One and Xbox 360 console platforms.
Peggle 2 debuted on Xbox One in April, with the Xbox 360 version following in May.
Peggle 2 PS4 will include the core game but does not appear to include the DLC that has already been released on Xbox One and Xbox 360. That content will presumably be available for purchase, however, much as it is on Microsoft’s platforms.
The Peggle 2 PS4 version will incorporate all game updates released so far. And by that, we mean “patches.” That’s not to say the game’s short on content.
Peggle 2 offers 60 levels, 60 trials, 180 objectives, Peg Party multiplayer action, and four all-new Peggle Masters and power-ups. Much like the Xbox 360 version, we expect Peggle 2 PS4 to include the brand-new multiplayer Duel Mode and colorblind option.
Peggle 2 combines elements of pinball, pachinko and billiards and adds liberal doses of whimsy, fun, excitement and challenge – not to mention rainbows and a fifth of Beethoven.
The only Peggle 2 DLC released so far has been Windy’s Master Pack. Windy’s Master Pack introduces Windy the Fairy, an impish little sprite that wants nothing more than to up scores with the help of her incredible Fairy Flock power. Windy can magically transform lowly blue pegs into ferociously high-scoring purple pegs, turn simple shots into Free Ball-earning monsters, and great shots into massive monuments.
Windy’s Master Pack features 10 new levels, 10 new trials, 30 additional objectives and three new costumes.
EA did not announce a price for Peggle 2 PS4, but it should be in line with the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions, which cost $11.99.
