Konami has shipped Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) today. Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus takes the series in a new direction with a focus on the multiplayer experience as well as new playable characters and gameplay modes.
In addition to Ad-Hoc play and Wi-Fi support, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus includes a new single-player mode called Infinity Mission. Infinity Mission lets players engage in missions of increasing difficulty, gathering both weapons and team members in the face of increasingly tougher enemies. Through Infinity Mission, players will be able to recruit brand new soldiers from the Metal Gear Solid universe, including Raiden and Old Snake from the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and bring them online to battle other live opponents.
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus also allows players to upload their saved data from the original Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops to create instant squads.
Additionally, players can choose from a variety of new environment maps, such as an updated version of the REX Hangar area of the original Metal Gear Solid, for more multiplayer mayhem. Tutorials and improved in-game support are available to help players of all skill levels to jump right into the action or hone their skills.
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus carries a price of $19.99.
