TT Games is known for its LEGO Star Wars games, but even with that fantastic track record, today’s announcement that the company’s developing Guinness World Records: The Videogame for Wii and DS is still an eyebrow raiser.
Published by Warner Bros. Interactive, Guinness World Records: The Videogame will “offer players of all ages the opportunity not only to observe and marvel at the most remarkable activities in the world, but actually to participate in them.”
Unless, of course, you want to hold the world record holder for fatness. We doubt TT Games will include that one, even if the Wii version could incorporate the Wii Balance Board to gauge your unhealthy heft.
The game will let players try to grow the longest fingernails ever seen, walk a tightrope across the Grand Canyon or eat a jumbo jet. Obviously the game’s going for the less-than-realistic records — and at the very least, won’t be encouraging gamers to break any records in real life. But if you’ve wanted to see your name appear in the official Guinness World Records book, this could be your chance to do it digitally.
The game’s quick-fire action challenges can be played solo, in teams or in competitive multiplayer groups.
