Konami Unveils Rock Revolution for PS3, Xbox 360

May 15, 2008 by Sara Leave a Comment

A new Rock Band and Guitar Hero “killer” was unveiled by Konami today, as the company took the wraps off of Rock Revolution, a rhythm-based game that will let gamers play the drums, bass guitar and lead guitar.

Rock Revolution is scheduled to ship for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and DS this fall.

Rock Revolution will focus on the drum experience, something pioneered by MTV Games’ Rock Band last fall. However, also like Rock Band, Rock Revolution will let players take control of the bass and lead guitars as well. The focus will definitely be on drums, though, as Rock Revolution will ship with what Konami is calling “the most realistic drum peripheral on the market.”

Rock Revolution will include both on-disk songs as well as downloadable tracks, and it will support single as well as multiplayer modes. Exactly what those modes might be, Konami’s not saying — yet.

One unique aspect of the Wii version will be the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, which players can use an air-drum and air-guitar experience. In other words, the drum peripherals will be geared more toward the PS3 and Xbox 360. On the Nintendo DS, players will be able to use the stylus for their rhythm-matching sessions.

DailyGame will bring you more about Rock Revolution as it becomes available, presumably at E3 2008.
