LEGO Batman: The Videogame today began shipping to retail stores for every conceivable platform: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PS2, PSP (PlayStation Portable), Wii, Nintendo DS and PC. The action-platformer follows the LEGO gameplay model built-up in the Star Wars and Indiana Jones games, but in the Batman universe.
Here’s the plot: Gotham City’s most notorious criminals have broken out of Arkham Asylum, and it’s up to the dynamic duo to stop them. However, unlike any LEGO game before it, LEGO Batman lets players explore their wicked side and play as villains, not just heroes.
All told, LEGO Batman: The Videogame features 15 hero levels and 15 villain levels. Players can don the cape, mask or cloak of such comic heroes Batman, Robin, Alfred and Batgirl, or wreak havoc as The Joker, Harkey Quinn, Mr. Freeze and Two Face, among others.
LEGO Batman: The Videogame also features co-op multiplayer (though not online). In addition, players can get behind the wheel of vehicles such as the Batmobile and Batwing.
