Majesco Creating New Fitness Game for Wii Balance Board

June 12, 2008 by Sara Leave a Comment

Nintendo’s Wii Fit has taken our weight-watching nation by storm, and Majesco wants to get in on the action. The company today announced a new game, Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Ultimatum 2009, that will use the Wii Balance Board and ship this holiday season.

If you’re not familiar with the name, celebrity fitness trainer Jillian Michaels is the strength trainer and life coach on the popular TV series “The Biggest Loser.”

n Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Ultimatum 2009, players will become new recruits in Jillian’s boot camp, where they enroll in a unique training program comprised of challenging fitness tests and an ever-changing series of workouts. Players will choose from four types of workout: Weight Loss, Strength Training, Intervals and Hill Climb. Once the style is chosen, players will set the workout intensity (light, medium or hard) and duration (10 to 60 minutes).

The Wii Remote and Wii Balance Board motion-based challenges will range from crossing monkeybars to climbing ladders and rowing. Players will also be able to unlock lifestyle and fitness video tips from Jillian. You know, like “eat your broccoli.”

As in Wii Fit, players will be able to track their progress based on calories burned and workout intensity. In addition, a Competitive Party Mode will let two players race against each other through individual challenges or through the entire Physical Training course to earn the winning time.
