Leave it to MTV to release a game we never expected to see on the Nintendo Wii: Pimp My Ride. But that’s just what MTV has done today, releasing Pimp My Ride for the Wii so gamers can walk through the free-roaming environments of Pimp City.
MTV’s Pimp My Ride for the Wii combines racing with outrageous car customization and allows players “to roll with MTV host and hip-hop star Xzibit on a quest to transform broken-down hoopties into pimped out dream machines.”
We wish we were joking or making this up.
In Pimp My Ride, players pick out unique customizations and hook up everything from tires and rims to subwoofers and flat panel TVs to transform beaters into pimped-out masterpieces. After creating the car in the garage, players then take to the streets for high-speed racing in the five unique boroughs of Pimp City.
Players use the Wiimote to take on high-speed challenges, navigate open environments and show off their car.
In theory, anyway. Honestly, what self-respecting gamer is going to own this game and give those game mechanics a chance in the first place?
