KOEI today announced that Samurai Warriors: KATANA for Nintendo Wii has “gone gold” and is set to ship in North America on January 15, 2008.
Using first-person perspective, Samurai Warriors: KATANA delivers arcade-style action as players master different weapons using the motion-sensitive Wii Remote. On each mission, legendary samurai and allies will serve as players guide as they try to prevent pirates from invading their ships, rescue maidens from a burning castle and explore mysterious caverns stalked by ninjas.
Samurai Warriors: KATANA offers three different modes. With nearly 30 hours of gameplay, Musou Mode takes players on an incredible adventure through Feudal Japan. Trial Mode lets samurai-in-training prepare for battle with a multitude of challenges, and also earn gold that can be used to purchase weapons and precious items. And in Versuss Mode, players can go head-to-head with a friend in eight mini-games.
