Scholastic Media's New I SPY Spooky Mansion Game for Wii Arrives

October 13, 2010 by Sara Leave a Comment

Scholastic Media, a division of Scholastic Inc., the global children’s publishing, education and media company, announced in August another new addition to its award-winning and best-selling I SPY interactive franchise with the release of I SPY Spooky Mansion for Nintendo’s Wii console. I SPY Spooky Mansion – full of thrilling adventures hidden in a mysterious haunted house – will be available at retail stores in late October for $29.99.

“I SPY Spooky Mansion has entertained and enthralled children and families on multiple interactive platforms over the years,” said Deborah Forte, President of Scholastic Media and Executive Vice President of Scholastic Inc. “We are delighted to bring I SPY Spooky Mansion to the Wii platform, which offers players a unique I SPY experience that only it can provide – including first-person gameplay and original interactive 3-D riddles.”

After being trapped by a clever skeleton, players of I SPY Spooky Mansion are challenged to find a secret way out of the mysterious old home. First-person exploration of each room of the house reveals 33 I SPY riddles–each featuring interactive mini-games. Additionally, players find brain-teasing games and embark on scavenger hunts throughout the mansion as they search for an escape. The game is being distributed by Cokem International.

With more than 5 million units sold of I SPY interactive game products (nearly one million of those for Spooky Mansion), and over 90 prestigious awards, I SPY has been engaging kids of all ages on multiple platforms including Nintendo DS (I SPY Fun House & I SPY Universe), Wii, CD-ROM, iDVD, Leapster, the TAG Reading System, iPhone, and iPod touch. In fall 2009, Scholastic Media introduced I SPY Spooky Mansion and I SPY Riddle Race to the iPhone and iPod touch where the titles consistently ranked Top 50 in the “Paid Kids Games” app category, and Top 100 in the “Paid Puzzle Games” category. The company recently released an optimized version of the I SPY Spooky Mansion app for the iPad; that app debuted at #2 on the “Paid Kids Games” List and #6 on the “Paid Puzzle Games” list.
