Sonic and the Black Knight Unveiled for Wii

July 22, 2008 by Sara Leave a Comment

Sega has announced a new Wii-exclusive Sonic the Hedgehog game, and in spite of its title, it won’t feature Batman. Too bad for Sega, considering the roll Batman is on right now….

Sonic and the Black Knight, which will appear on the Nintendo Wii in Spring 2009, is part of the storybook series that began with Sonic and the Secret Rings. This new adventure will bring Sonic into the world of King Arthur, giving the famous hedgehog the chance to become a knight.

Since it’s a Wii game, Sonic and the Black Knight will use both the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk to drive its gameplay. Since Sonic will be racing through a medieval world, players can expect to swing the Wii Remote like a sword, and perhaps jump by making flicking motions as well.

The game will include a series of missions set in Arthurian-inspired locations, but specifics about the locales, character list and multiplayer options are being kept under wraps for now. We’ll bring you more details as they surface.
