Star Wars fans got a whole lot of Nintendo and LucasArts lovin’ today, as the game publisher today unveiled two Star Wars: The Clone Wars games that are coming only to the Nintendo Wii and DS.
The new Star Wars: The Clone Wars will ship for both the Wii and DS this holiday season.
The Wii game, called Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels, will (as the name implies) feature lightsaber battles that let players use the Wii Remote to engage in fights in locations from the new Star Wars feature film. The game will also let players re-create epic duels from the movie.
Meanwhile, Star Wars The Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance, developed exclusively for the Nintendo DS, will let gamers experience the power “when two Jedi join forces to fight as one.” We’re not exactly sure what LucasArts means by that, but we do know that the game will use stylus-based input to control the Jedi’s movement and engage in lightsaber combat.
Both Star Wars: The Clone Wars games will incorporate the computer-generated imagery from Lucasfilm Animation, the division of LucasArts responsible for The Clone Wars animated movie and series.
