Take-Two Creates 2K Play Label, Teams with Nickelodeon

September 10, 2007 by Sara Leave a Comment

In case you needed more evidence of casual videogames hitting the big time, look no further than today’s announcement of Take-Two creating 2K Play, a new publishing label dedicated to casual gaming. Oh, and did we mention that Take-Two is also partnering with Nickelodeon for handheld and console games?
The new licensing agreement with Nickelodeon includes such properties as Nick Jr. preschool television hits Dora the Explorer and Go, Diego, Go. These two programs will lead to the first titles published under the new 2K Play label, hitting North American retailers this fall.
For what it’s worth, the 2K Play handheld game for Dora the Explorer will mark Dora the Explorer’s debut on the Nintendo DS.
