The House of the Dead 3 Gets "Extreme" for Wii

February 29, 2008 by Sara Leave a Comment

SEGA today unveiled a new mode for the Wii-exclusive The House of the Dead 2 and 3. Called “Extreme Mode,” this new mode will be available in the single-player experience only and include a number of gameplay tweaks.

Available after beating The House of the Dead 2 and The House of the Dead 3, Extreme Mode is a special single-player mode for The House of the Dead 3 that includes a number of gameplay changes. Among the changes are quicker enemy attacks, a much smaller bullet blast radius, a shotgun that reloads faster and a new melee attack.

When the enemy is within melee range, players can press the A button to unleash a powerful melee attack that can hit several enemies at once. The melee attack can also be used to block enemy attacks, missile weapons and even boss attacks.

However, players need to be careful not to abuse the melee attack, as it requires players to “reload” after each use.
