It’s the middle of winter today, just about that time when we’re all fantasizing about hitting the beach and soaking in some sunshine. Well THQ wants to oblige those fantasies, as it announced today a new Wii-exclusive game called Big Beach Sports.
Big Beach Sports, which will ship worldwide this summer, will let gamers compete in a number of outdoor sports including soccer, volleyball, American football, cricket, disc golf and bocce ball — all on a beach environment.
Big Beach Sports drops players into a seaside resort setting where up to four players can compete in the aforementioned sports. The single-player tournament will encourage players to master each sport through the Wii’s motion-sensitive controls, while the multiplayer options will let players go head-to-head.
This game will mark the Wii debut of bocce, cricket and disc golf, none of which was ever included in Wii Sports or Wii Play.
Big Beach Sports for the Nintendo Wii is being developed by HB Studios Multimedia.
