Nintendo’s Wii Ware system is about to get its first pinball game, a genre that Xbox Live Arcade owners have enjoyed for the better part of a year. The Wii Ware pinball game isn’t all that “new,” however; it’s the next chapter in the TurboGrafix-16 series Alien Crush.
Hudson Entertainment has announced it will bring Alien Crush Returns to Wii Ware. Alien Crush Returns is a sci-fi pinball game based on the company’s old Alien Crush series. In
traditional pinball fashion, Alien Crush Returns will offer gameplay spanning two screens, providing players a lot of real estate to rack up points, multipliers and bonuses.
The game is played across multiple boards, all of which feature an eerie alien landscape and enemies that try to mess with players’ shots.
If the AI interference gets to be too much, players can go online to play against a friend. Alien Crush Returns also includes online leaderboards, and Hudson will offer several online tournaments, including one that will coincides with the game’s launch.
