Majesco today shipped a new family-friendly game, Wonder World Amusement Park, for the Nintendo Wii. In the game, players use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to throw, hammer, shoot, pump, grab and shake their way through 30 carnival games.
As in any real-world carnival game, the goal is to win as many tickets as possible, from frenzied fishing in “Piranha Bites” to pounding aliens in “Infestation.” The tickets can then be used to purchase prizes or entrance into five interactive rides (mini-games), including Bumper Ships, Sky Cannon, Castle Terror, Tunnel of Love and Pirate Ship.
In addition to playing the games as an out-of-the-box character, players can also create their own custom avatar and use him/her to visit the park’s five themed zones: Spookyville, Fairytale, Carnival, Space and Pirate.
In terms of gameplay modes, there’s a Story Mode for one person as well as two modes that support four players total: Quick Play or Party Mode. In the latter two modes, the mini-games are the focus of the play time.
Wonder World Amusement Park carries a retail price of $39.99. A companion Nintendo DS version will be available this holiday.
