The developers of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 are creating a new role-playing game for PS3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. Published by Sega, the new Obsidian RPG will be called Alpha Protocol.
Alpha Protocol, a modern-day espionage RPG, is expected to ship for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in “early 2009.”
In Alpha Protocol, loyalty carries a price, an adage no one knows better than agent Michael Thorton. A talented young agent cast out by his government, Thorton is the only one with the information needed to stop an impending international catastrophe. To do so means he must cut himself off from the very people he is sworn to protect.
As players determine how to accomplish different objectives, their decisions and actions in each mission will transform the type of secret agent Michael Thorton will become. Every choice the player makes as Michael Thorton will carry consequences for his future and the fate of the world.
Sounds an awful lot like KOTOR 2, doesn’t it? That’s not a bad thing, in our opinion.
