PC gamers who use Impulse rather than Steam for their digital-distribution channel of choice have a few new game libraries available to them, as Stardock has announced that Capcom and Genie-Soft have been added to the Impulse catalog.
Launched in June, Impulse is a digital platform similar to Valve Software’s “Steam” that connects consumers and developers/publishers with games and applications for Windows XP and Vista.
Among the first Capcom games available via Impulse are MotoGP 2008, Flock, Neopets and Dark Void. Plunder, which has yet to release, will also be available via Impulse when the game ships. Genie-Soft software applications now available for download include disaster-recovery software Genie Backup Manager Home 8 and Genie Backup Manager Professional 8.
Additional companies whose games an applications are on Stardock’s Impulse include: Epic Games, THQ, AVG, Gas Powered Games, Hothead Games, Ironclad Games and Meridian4. All told, the platform includes more than 150 games and applications.
