CDV today announced it will publish Sacred 2: Fallen Angel in North America for the Xbox 360 and PC during the second half of 2008. The original Sacred was a total hit, selling more than 1.8 million units worldwide. Translation: you should pay close attention to this sequel.
Sacred 2: Fallen Angel is an action RPG that takes place in an open-ended and seamless world full of hundreds of dungeons, opponents and a variety of quests. Intelligent enemies, steadily adapting in number and difficulty based on player progress, challenge in heroic single- and multiplayer battles. Sounds an awful lot like Oblivion, doesn’t it? In DailyGame’s book, that’s a very very good thing.
Sacred 2: Fallen Angel includes a deep reward system enabling advancements in character, individual attributes and character-specific fighting styles. Perhaps the best part, though, is the drop-in styled cooperative multiplayer gameplay ensures players will enjoy the game alone or seamlessly with friends at any time. Five unique multiplayer modes round out the experience.
Sacred 2 will have two campaigns, Light and Shadow. Each campaign has distinct skills, rewards and story elements tailored to the chosen path. All told, the game includes six playable characters, each with a distinct look, capabilities and in-game motivation. Combat will be totally modifiable, as players can change and upgrade their character’s combat skills, and players will even be able to fight from a number of mounts (horses and beasts).
In addition to the drop-in cooperative multiplayer, Sacred 2: Fallen Angel will also support PvP play.
