With Gran Turismo 5 Prologue set to release this week, many gamers are jonesing for a high-end racing experience. But for those gamers who want to get down and dirty with a truck or two, Empire Interactive has just announced a PC game you might want to take note of: Ford Off-Road Racing.
Ford Racing Off Road for PC, part of the Ford license series, is set to ship later this summer. The newest addition to the Ford Racing franchise leaves its familiar tracks and urban streets behind for racing on tough, rugged terrain. (Get it, the environments are built “Ford tough.” Yeah…uh huh…that’s it. Anyway….)
The game features a convoy of vehicles that gamers can race across 24 tracks, each of which can benefit from the introduction of real-time, on-the-go damage repair.
According to Empire Interactive, Ford Racing Off Road is “the fastest Ford Racing title to date” and includes hidden routes to gain even more of a speed advantage over opponents. The game will let players powerslide their 4x4s through three off-road environments: desert, water and ice. All told, the game will also include 12 race modes: Standard Race, Elimination, Time Attack, Overtake, Slalom, Checkpoint, Checkpoint Sprint, Seconds Out, Gold Rush, Gauntlet, Low Damage Race and Expedition.
