Oblivion Designer Goes to Big Huge Games

February 20, 2007 by Sara

The Lead Designer of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has joined Big Huge Games to work on a new role-playing game.
We don’t normally publish personnel moves here on DailyGame, but Ken Rolston’s move is particularly intriguing. For starters, it makes us wonder what, if any, affect this move will have the excellent Elder Scrolls series. Todd Howard has been instrumental in the success of Oblivion, so the franchise is probably still in fine hands.
However, it’s a serious coup for Big Huge Games to get a big huge talent such as Rolston to work on a new role-playing IP, because the studio is best known for its real-time strategy games.
Rolston, a 25-year industry veteran, has also worked on pen-and-paper RPGs such as Paranoia and RuneQuest.
