Konami today said Silent Hill Homecoming will ship in September for the PC, a surprise announcement for a game that for months has been planned strictly for the PlayStation 3 (PS3) and Xbox 360.
Silent Hill Homecoming for the PC will be available as a digital download via Valve’s Steam network in September. No retail/boxed-version plans were announced.
Silent Hill Homecoming marks the fifth story in the Silent Hill franchise and introduces a new protagonist to the mysterious town. The story follows Alex Shepherd, who returns to his hometown of Shepherd’s Glen to investigate the sudden disappearance of his brother and the strange occurrences taking place around town. Alex unravels a tale that takes him from his boyhood home to the fog-shrouded streets of Silent Hill, as he faces the darkest horrors of his soul to find his missing brother.
The PC version of Silent Hill Homecoming will feature upgraded graphics, as well as PC-specific controls that complement the game’s new enhanced combat system of attacks and counters.
