EA today announced a new expansion pack for The Sims 2. Called “Free Time,” the Sims 2 expansion offers players’ Sims a full suite of new activities and hobbies.
In The Sims 2: Free Time, it’s all about fun leisure-time activities, whether that means immersing your Sims in books, becoming an award-winning foodie, flying a remote-controlled helicopter or playing the violin. For that matter, mechanics can repair and then drive their renovated car, or sell pottery that they’ve made in their free time to rake in oodles of Simoelons.
With all the new hobbies, there are some new careers as well. Some of the new career options include oceanography, architecture and entertainment, in addition to the aforementioned potter and mechanic. To accompany the new hobbies and careers, there are a bunch of new outfits and items, as well as a new Lifetime Aspiration Meter.
All told, there are five new career tracks, each with reward objects. Oceanographers can earn a koi pond, entertainers can get their own star of fame, architects can use their own drafting table, dancers can receive a ballet barre, and intelligence agents can use an audio augmenter earpiece.
The Sims 2: Free Time will ship for PC on February 26.
