Warhammer Novel Grinds Its Way into Bookstores

September 12, 2008 by Sara Leave a Comment

Are you literally chomping at the bit to get your hands on Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning? Do you have your disc tray open already, just waiting for September 16th? You should relax to take your mind off of this final week of suffering and waiting. Luckily, Black Library books has you covered with “Empire in Chaos.” The book is set in the WAR universe and a press release describes it as thus:

“The epic novel follows the journey of Annaliese Jager as she escapes her destroyed village only to be swept up in an epic battle to save the Empire from the marauding forces of Chaos. Joined by an injured High Elf, a grizzled Witch Hunter, and a Dwarf Ironbreaker, she will battle along side the armies of the Empire and Dwarfs against greenskin tribes and the dreaded Chaos Raven Host. Together, this unlikely band of heroes must fight like never before to turn back the tides of darkness, or the future of the Empire is doomed.”

Who wants to join me in re-creating this crew for Halloween? I call “grizzled witch hunter.” Witch hunters without grizzle are utterly ridiculous.

The book was penned by Anthony Reynolds, who wrote several other books set in the Warhammer universe. Find it at bookstores now for around $7.99.

Also, I found this on Reynolds’ official biography at blacklibrary.com: “He now resides back in his hometown of Sydney, overlooking the beach and enjoying the sun and the surf, though he finds that to capture the true darkness and horror of Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 he has taken to writing in what could be described as a darkened cave.”

Jeez! Somebody get this man a job writing fiction set in the Bubble Bobble universe so he can get out of that cave.

Here is a link to more information about the book. And don’t worry, soon WAR will be out and we can forget about trivial matters such as reading.
