The first downloadable content (DLC) for Call of Duty: Black Ops is coming in February, but it’s only coming to the Xbox 360. For now, anyway. Called Black Ops First Strike, this first DLC will launch worldwide via Xbox Live on February 1, 2011. Activision did not share when, or whether, the First Strike DLC for Black Ops will be available for PS3.
Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike will include four new multiplayer maps: Berlin Wall, Discovery, Stadium and Kowloon, and a new Zombie map called Ascension.
There was not any indication that Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike will include new weapons or classes, nor any single-player/campaign elements. But Black Ops is predominantly played in the multiplayer realm, so that’s not likely an issue for most COD players.
While announcing the first Black Ops DLC, Activision also shared that Xbox Live Silver members who haven’t yet experienced Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer will have the chance to do so via a Multiplayer Unlock event from January 28-30, 2011.
