Xbox 360 owners get their next shot at downloading an Xbox Original next week, as Microsoft today announced that Dreamfall: Game of the Year Edition will be added to the “Xbox Originals” program on Xbox Live Arcade.
Starting next Monday, March 24, Xbox 360 owners can download Dreamfall: Game of the Year Edition, which first appeared on the original Xbox, directly to their Xbox 360 hard drive. Available for 1200 Microsoft Points, Dreamfall: Game of the Year Edition is the continuation of a saga that began with The Longest Journey.
Dreamfall is an old-school adventure game that bridges the gap between the classic “point and click” adventure game (where you could click on any given point at the screen) and the action adventure (where you need to move up to an object to interact with it). The game introduces the “focus field feature,” a context-sensitive interface that lets players scan their entire visible environment as seen by the characters, and use it to get information on far away objects and trigger remote gameplay opportunities.
Playing as one of three characters adventuring through three different worlds, players will use their brains or their brawn to sneak, fight or talk their way through the game’s many challenges. Be polite or rude, threaten or sweet talk — in Dreamfall, players make the choice.
