EA Making Live Arcade Game with PGR3 Team

January 17, 2007 by Sara

EA announced today it will be bringing its first Xbox Live Arcade title to the Marketplace this spring. The game, called Boom Boom Rocket, is a rhythmic music title under development by Bizarre Creations, the team responsible for the Project Gotham Racing series on Xbox and Xbox 360.
In Boom Boom Rocket, players trigger rockets to the beat of the music while traveling through a 3D cityscape. The better timed the explosions, the more spectacular the fireworks effects. The fireworks are choreographed to 10 original tracks created by Ian Livingstone. Players can play in single-player mode or go head-to-head against a friend on the same console.
No online multiplayer options were announced. The only online options, in fact, appear to be leaderboard rankings.
The game features three modes of play (Normal, Speed and Versus), each of which is applied to the songs as well.
