Lionhead Studios and Microsoft today announced plans to give gamers the Fable II Pub Games for free — if they pre-order the Xbox 360 action RPG. The companies also unveiled the final list and names of the Fable 2 Pub Games.
First, the pre-order news. Gamers who pre-order a copy of Fable 2 at participating retailers will be given free access to download the Fable 2 Pub Games when they release in August. The Fable 2 Pub Games will be only available via Xbox Live Arcade.
As for the final roster and names of the Xbox Live Arcade Fable 2 Pub Games, here goes: Keystone, a combination of Craps and Roulette; Spinnerbox, an updated take on slot machines; and Fortune’s Tower, a press-your-luck style of game. These three games will all be included in one download, as will “Shell,” a tutorial of all three games.
Gamers who play these casino-style mini-games and accumulate gold can then transfer their earned gold to the world of Fable 2 when the full RPG ships later this year. With that gold, players can purchase items right off the bat including weapons, clothing, houses and dog tricks.
The Fable 2 Pub Games will also be available for purchase via Xbox Live in August for 800 Microsoft Points.
