We all may say Gears of War 3 is bound to be a popular game, but Microsoft today shared information that backs up that claim entirely: Gears of War 3 has surpassed one million pre-orders worldwide. The pre-order milestone makes Gears of War 3 the fastest pre-ordered title for an Xbox-exclusive franchise in the history of the platform.
If you’d care to join the masses and pre-order your own copy of Gears of War 3 (presuming you haven’t done so already), here are links to Gears of War 3’s pre-order pages on Amazon.com:
When it ships on Sept. 20, Gears of War 3 will mark the conclusion of Epic Games’ trilogy featuring convict-cum-soldier Marcus Fenix and his fellow COG soldiers as they make humanity’s final stand against the parasitic Lambent and savage Locust threats.
Helping propel Gears of War 3 pre-orders was a group of 1.29 million fans who participated in the Gears of War 3 public multiplayer beta. Featuring three distinct gameplay modes across four new maps, the multiplayer beta concluded this past Sunday (May 15) after fans collectively logged more than 249 years worth of gameplay over Xbox Live. The scientific term for that amount of gameplay is “nuckin’ futs.”
We’ll have more about Gears of War 3 next month from E3. In the meantime, get your pre-orders in using those Amazon links above.
