Microsoft Announces Viva Pinata Party Game

July 11, 2007 by Sara

Viva Pinata was a surprising sleeper hit for the Xbox 360, so it’s not surprising that one announcement was somewhat overshadowed at Microsoft’s E3 press conference: a new VIva Pinata game is on the way for Xbox 360.
Rather than be an outright seqle, though, the game really is a brand-new title: Viva Pinata: Party Animals. That’s right, it’s a party game.
Oh, and it’s not being developed by Rare Ltd., but by Krome, the developers behind Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, Spyro The Dragon and Hellboy.
The new party game will of course be based on the original game and animated TV series, but it will bring back the familiar pinata animals not for socializing, but for a host of mini-games. The games will be playable on the same console or over Xbox LIVE.
Viva Pinata: Party Animals will be available this holiday season for Xbox 360.
