Microsoft today will begin selling a new, $279.99 Xbox 360 designed with kids and families in mind. Called the Xbox 360 Arcade console, it will include five family-friendly games, a wireless controller, an HDMI port and and 256MB of memory.

Inside its $279.99 packaging, the Xbox 360 Arcade console will include PAC-MAN Championship Edition, Uno, Luxor 2, Boom Boom Rocket and Feeding Frenzy. All five titles were formerly available only as Xbox Live Arcade downloads.

Microsoft also announced that it is expanding its catalog of family-friendly TV and movie on-demand content via Xbox Live Marketplace. These additions include more than 50 episodes of the classic Looney Tunes library (in high definition), and three new Nickelodeon shows (Blue’s Clues, The Backyardigans and iCarly).
