A new peripheral for Xbox 360 allows gamers to charge their controller batteries without removing the battery pack from the controller itself. Although the play-and-charge pack already enables this while gamers play, TeknoCreations claims that its new InCharge Inductive Charger provides enough juice to the recharged batteries to enable 25 hours of continuous play.
Using a base, the new InCharge charger can charge one or two Xbox 360 controllers at the same time. The controllers can’t be used while they’re being charged, however.
Using Lithium Polymer batteries, the InCharge for Xbox 360 is 50 percent lighter than other charging stations for Microsoft’s console. The InCharge, which retails for $34.99, uses a contact-free “inductive” charging solution rather than metal contacts, thus eliminating the risk of dirty or greasy battery contacts that occur with other chargers.
