Scourge Outbreak, a raw and gritty squad-based shooter built with Unreal Engine 3, is now available for Xbox 360 via Xbox Live Arcade. Scourge Outbreak has full four-player co-op support throughout the entire 6+ hour campaign, as well as intense close-quarters PvP modes for up to eight players.
With four playable characters, each of whom has different weapon handling stats and a distinct combination of special abilities, Scourge Outbreak puts players in the shoes of the veteran mercenaries of Echo Squad. Unique character-specific flashbacks reveal critical past events for each character and shed light on the game’s story. An XP system lets players track their experience and unlock gameplay rewards in both the Campaign and Multiplayer modes.
Scourge Outbreak pits Echo Squad against their sworn enemies, the Nogari Corporation, in a desperate mission to rescue a double agent hidden behind enemy lines and to recover a mysterious meteorite fragment from Nogari’s possession. Convinced that Nogari’s “Ambrosia Fuel Technology” is connected with deadly plagues that threaten to ravage the world, this may be Echo Squad’s last and only shot at bringing the Nogari threat to its knees once and for all.
The game includes a squad AI for groups with fewer than four players, and a quick-order system for rapidly deploying squad members in battle. All told, Scourge Outbreak has nine Weapons, plus multiple variants of each to suit your style of play.
As for gameplay modes, the Xbox 360 game supports up to eight Players in Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture-The-Flag multiplayer Versus modes. The multiplayer action is spread across five different maps.
